Devil's Night: A Collection of Tales and Poems
On Devil’s Night in Detroit, MI, the streets come alive, with monsters and ghouls haunting the streets and terrorizing the city. Devil’s Night is a small collection of short stories and poems that are chilling and entertaining. Starting with the first story, that introduces the Nain Rouge, a mythical creature that is said to roam the streets on Devil’s Night causing mayhem. He takes us into a haunted cemetery full of vampires, after crashing a Halloween party. In between the short stories are poems to set the chilly mood. King Snake is the second installment of the collection where an aunt and her nephew unleash a giant basilisk snake onto the city and run into a cult that is trying to stop it. The third story is a wild adventure into Marco’s Fun House. A young couple buys a new house and discovers a box that turns the house into a circus full of clowns that won’t let them leave. Carver is the fourth story about a group of teenagers that make the mistake of taking candy from a strange old woman that and that turns their friend into a pumpkin. Vanchilloquist, is the story of homeless man who finds a dummy in a dumpster in an alley and thinks it’s his ticket out of the streets only to discover that the dummy has other plans. Knock Knock Street is based on a legend of a little girl who was run over by a car and dragged down the street while banging on the side of a car, and now whoever speeds down that street will be haunted.


About the Author
Erin Fragel has a bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in English and Creative Writing, with a Minor in Arts and Design. This is her first collection of short stories and poems. She grew up in Detroit, Michigan and currently lives in northern Michigan.
